elevation 7450' Swimming, Sailing, Canoes, Cabins, Cliffs, Fishing. *Yes cliffs at this lake! Take my advise, Think twice about jumping off them as I have seen people break bones just hitting the water. Also it can be sunny and warm down in Tahoe, but cold and snow at this lake* Fallen Leaf Lake
elevation 6377' Swimming, Sailing, Canoes, Motor Boats, Cabins, Cliffs, Fishing, General Store. Fallen Leaf is a great place to visit, You kind find me every now and then taking some of the trails heading to the north shore of the lake! for you movie buffs keep in mind this is the location of a few famous movies.Such movies as The Bodyguard and City Of Angels.
Lake Tahoe
Like its hard to miss. If you are hear in the summer months, take the 72 mile drive around Lake Tahoe!! better yet jump on the bike and start out! Tons of places along the way to stop, very easy to make a day out of this trip.
Great beaches to visit Sand Harbor Beach
Sand Harbor is a fun place! great place to sit and look at the views. During the summer months you can catch some wine festivals and of course the famous Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival
Round Hill Pines Beach
Great location for boat rentals or jet ski's. Bring the sun block as you will get tons of sun at this beach. Lakeside Beach and Marina
This place has a grill that is pretty good.
Zephyr Cove Beach
This place is alot of fun. From a bar on the beach to food. Great volleyball location. Lots of boat and jet ski rentals as well. Bring more then just the sun block to this beach. If you walk down the beach you will come to some great rocks out in the water! perfect to get some R&R.
Rivers and Waterfalls Eagle Falls
This is a perfect place to sit and have lunch. You can catch us up hear having lunch all the time. Keep your eyes open as you can see some great bald eagle's flying around at times.
Horsetail Falls
This locations is perfect. However it is a pretty tuff hike to the top of these falls! but well worth it. Pack a lunch and some snacks as once on top, you wont want to leave this place.
Taylor Creek
This place is very nice. They offer all types of wild life views and a nice paved 2 mile loop to walk around. Great spot to see our local bears when the Kokanee Salmon are running (starting in October) keep in mind this is a wildlife event DO NOT TOUCH THE FISH as Taylor Creek is a breeding ground for these salmon, in fact when they breed hear! some of the eggs supply many other lakes around California. This is also a nesing place for bald eagles. If you see one of our bears at Taylor Creek please observe them from a distance as they will not bother you if you dont bother them! for more information about bears visit our friends over at the League To Save BEARS Taylor Creek does have a education center on site and is well worth the guided tours. If going on your own, you will see tons of poeple and 9 times out of 10 you will run into a Forest Service Ranger along the way.
